Affinity Photo is a new photo editor that is easy to learn and does everything you need. Because it is new, its interface is much more straightforward than that other program, and most common tasks are easier to accomplish. During this class students will learn the core features of Affinity photo including everyday tasks such as basic image adjustments to advanced techniques it makes simple like frequency separation and complex masking.
- Image Adjustment Layers (curves, white balance, etc)
- InPaint, heal, clone and other repair tools for easily removing things from the image.
- Using Layers and Layer Groups for Complex Edits
- Masks, Masking Tools and Compositing
- Frequency Separation
- Image Stacks
- Image Warping
- Other Advanced Features (time allowing): Panoramas, HDR Tone Mapping, Focus Stacking
This class is geared for photographers of all skill levels. This workshop is perfect for those interested in switching from Adobe Photoshop or finding an alternative. This also a great class for the photographer looking to expand their toolbox.
Schedule and Format
The instructor will give the students a brief tour of Affinity and then will present several photo edits in increasing complexity. Each edit will teach students how to use different features of Affinity. The class will take place in the Precision Camera classroom. Students may bring their own laptop and follow along, but it is not required. Please pre-purchase and install Affinity Photo if you wish to follow along.
