Stealing Like an Artist
No one creates in a vacuum. I recently read Steal Like An Aritst and Show Your Work, both by Austin Kleon. I recommend both books for any working creative.
My recent work includes my wife’s Antarctic themed graduation photos, a Dog & Ballerina shoot for the Taylor Animal Shelter and some dark and dreary portraits with our regular assistant Stacy and a friendly Great Dane. The muted colors and simple custom built sets of Dan Winter have been one of the biggest influences on my current work.

Color Me
Josh has been playing with color. He just read Chroma: A Photographer’s Guide to Lighting with Color by Nick Fancher.
Josh is building on his existing knowledge and bringing the pieces together. His most recent work includes multi-color smoke as well as various light colors. He used it at engagement shoot last year and has been doing making more photos in the mean time. Look for a blog post in the near future.
